Course Goals (acquired competencies): Acquiring adequate knowledge of the characteristics, features and application of electric and hybrid vehicles. Capacity for efficient selection, use and maintenance of autonomous electric and hybrid vehicles.

Subject of the course content: Environmental Impact and History of Modern Transportation. Concept of Hybridization of the Automobile. HEV Fundamentals. Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles. Special Hybrid Vehicles. Power Electronics in HEVs. Electric Machines and Drives in HEVs. Batteries, Ultra capacitors, Fuel Cells, and Controls.
